MANISTEE, MI — Police have identified the two people who died last week after the SUV they were traveling in plunged into the Manistee River channel, according to 9&10 News. The victims, 50-year-old Charla Bishop and 38-year-old Ryan Jensen were each found in the river by a dive team that was searching the area after the SUV crashed.

Members of the Manistee Police Department, Manistee Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard were involved in the search for the victims.

The accident occurred in the 300 block of River Street around 3 p.m. last Thursday. Police have yet to indicate what may have led to the crash and an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Kirsten Goodspeed at 231-398-3281.
