The joint panel working out the modalities for a merger between Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has submitted its report.
It would be recalled that both Obi and Kwankwaso confirmed that they are in talks over possible merger. The merger is not to form a new political party. But it would allow them to join forces and contest on the same political party if things work out well as they hope. They may decide to contest under LP or under NNPP as the case may be.
For now, details of the modalities worked out by the joint panel has not been made public. It is expected that the leaders of the two political parties would meet, go through the details and may be make the ones they like public.
The report cited above also revealed that the two parties have not decided who would be the presidential candidate and running mate if the merger works. This is another area they would need to finalize after reaching agreements on the modalities worked out by the panel as contained in their report.
