The Conners’ Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson are given big raises ahead of show’s fourth season

The Conners’ quartet of Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson have been given big raises ahead of show’s fourth season.

The contracts for the new season will span 20 episodes, according to Deadline, which first broke the news.

The show’s production company Werner Entertainment has been working on licensing with ABC, according to the outlet, and new writers are being hired ahead of the fourth season.

The sitcom’s stars have been on yearly deals, according to the outlet, as opposed to the industry’s traditional six-year deals for talent, as it’s a spinoff of the Roseanne reboot.

Gilbert, Goodman and Metcalf have earned in the area of $400,000 an episode, while Gorenson’s salary has been substantially bumped over the first three seasons, according to the outlet.

The four performers, who all appeared on the original Roseanne show, get a percentage of the backend of the series revenue stream.

The show was hit by tragedy last month when crew member Terrel Richmond died on the set of the show amid a ‘fatal medical event’ while working on the series, Werner Entertainment said.

‘He was a much loved member of The Conners and Roseanne families for over 25 years,’ the company said. ‘As we remember our beloved colleague, we ask that you respect the privacy of his family and loved ones as they begin their grieving process.’

Director Jody Margolin Hahn said in a subsequent social media post, ‘Yesterday, we lost a dear member of our audio crew, Terrel Richmond. Today, we shoot our final episode of @theconnersabc Season 3 in loving memory of a lovely man.’

The show’s Michael Fishman added of Richmond: ‘We shared a stage, large portions of our lives, and we will forever be connected.’

The Conners supplanted Roseanne after Roseanne Barr’s May 2018 firing from the show after sending a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former advisor for ex-President Barack Obama. Roseanne’s character was subsequently killed off in the storyline of the series, which remains ABC’s top comedy show.
